Monotypes

City parks and ponds, flowers, trees and dream images are the sources for my prints. Images emerge from sketches, photographs I've taken or memories of special places. Some prints are in black and white, others are are printed in color or hand-colored, some have elements of collage.

My background as a tapestry artist has influenced my use of patterns, the break up of space into small units and the layering of color. I have also been influenced by other artists' work: contemporary Japanese and American woodcut artists, Edvard Munch and German Expressionists.
